Welcome to BMore Balanced!
|My 27th Birthday|
A little history:
Although I call myself a Charm City girl, I actually grew up in Hagerstown, MD. South Hagerstown to be exact. Go Rebels! I attended college at Towson University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sport Studies. The goal after college was to attend grad school but I decided to take a "little" break and got a job at a nearby psychiatric hospital. There I developed a passion for helping others and learning about human behavior. I was able to see first hand how nutrition and exercise affected a person's mood and overall state of mind and yearned to learn more about how one related to the other. I loved both of the Nutrition classes that I took at Towson and pondered the idea of going back to school to be an RD, but a girl's gotta pay the bills.

After a long and hard debate I made a life changing decision to quit my job to pursue my dream of becoming a registered dietitian and I couldn't be happier with my choice. It was tough and I know that I have a long road ahead of me but I am confident that it will all be worth it. I am currently working full time in a more flexible position and am taking prerequisite science courses at a local community college in the evenings. I plan to apply for Dietetic/Nutrition programs once the requirements have been fulfilled.

Please note that I am not a Registered Dietitian (yet) and I don't claim to be an expert on nutrition, writing, mental health, cooking, fitness, or any other topic of choice. I am a student of life and I'm sure I will make mistakes as all humans do but I am learning as I go. I am open to constructive criticism or any suggestions you may have for me to improve my blog and posts.
